Endeavour Mining Ivory Coast Project

Issues faced were significant, including the remoteness of the project, ability to obtain the proposed contractor references and technical information from international sources, the significant extent of the review documentation and ongoing sourcing of information, and the nature of the guarded proprietary Recyn® process. The review was time restricted with a strict budget and 3 month completion deadline. The works was subject to a confidentiality agreement that ENC strictly controlled and limited to the review team and Endeavour Mining representative only.

ENC assigned the “A team” to plan and carry out this project. The technical team consisted of the ENC Engineering Manager, design engineers, 3D Tekla team, senior process engineer, senior planner/schedulers, senior commercial analysts  and the ENC risk management specialist to facilitate both the project risk assessment and schedule PRA risk assessments. ENC prepared a comprehensive 77 page report consisting of report findings, recommendations, costed options to be considered with seven Appendices with additional detailed technical, commercial and risk findings.

The outcome of the review and provision of the comprehensive report provided Endeavour Mining senior management with detailed qualified and quantified information with which to make a decision upon. Endeavour eventually approved the project, supported by the ENC technical team review report findings and recommendations.
